Luxembourg, [3rd August 2023] - SustainCERT SA ("SustainCERT"), a global leader in climate impact verification, is now an approved Validation and Verification Body in Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program and will offer verification services for renewable energy projects.
The Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program is the world’s leading greenhouse gas (GHG) crediting program and, like all high-quality carbon standards, requires independent, third-party verification. As a Validation and Verification body for Verra, SustainCERT brings extensive verification expertise and will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of the projects in Verra’s programs.
This announcement follows SustainCERT recently becoming an accredited Validation and Verification Body under ISO 14065 by ANAB and echoes the organization’s ambition to scale its verification activities – and bring credibility to climate action.
Since 2018, SustainCERT has been working to transform the verification process from one that is manual and analogue to one that is digital. Project Developers benefit from SustainCERT’s digital project management capabilities, which include centralized document management, an intuitive interface and a digitized workflow to easily navigate each step of the verification process. Additionally, SustainCERT is actively participating in Verra’s Digital Measurement, Reporting and Verification (DMRV) working group. As a collective we explore opportunities for using technological innovations in Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) and develop guidance for implementing DMRV across voluntary carbon markets and VCS Projects.
This is a significant milestone for SustainCERT to now offer verification services for Verra’s VCS program. We are working hard to take verification into the digital age and look forward to offering solutions that will further enhance the speed and accuracy at which carbon credits can be verified
